Activites of the ACT ME/CFS Society Inc. Support Groups We have a monthly Support Group meeting, usually held between 12:30pm to 2pm on the first Tuesday of every month except January. Please note that the September meeting is at 12:15 and at the Independent Living Centre, 24 Parkinson Street, Weston (near Cooleman Court). We would love to see you there. Bring your lunch at 12.30 pm so there is time for a chat before the presentation from our guest speaker at 1 pm. At the end of the presentation there is usually time for a ‘question and answer’ session. Support Group meetings finish by 2 pm and members and friends are very welcome. Phone or email Gwen at SHOUT on 6290 1984 for more information. 7 October 2008 Support Group Meeting – Arthritis ACT On the Support Group meeting on November the 4th, the ACT Sleep Apnoea Association will help us to understand different sleep problems, the tests performed to diagnose them and treatment options available to us. Fundraising Cinema Event - Sunday 31 August On Sunday 31 August 2008 the Society held a special screening of the award winning ME/CFS documentary, I Remember Me, by Kim A. Snyder (see the film's press kit for more details) at Dendy Cinemas, Civic. Those attending chatted and enjoyed pre-screening drinks and canapes before watching gripping documentary. Proceeds from the event will go towards ME/CFS research and the ACT ME/CFS Society. Congratulations to the winners of the raffle held at the cinema event on 31 August 2008 Many Thanks to King O’Malleys and PJ O’Reilley’s for donating raffle prizes.

Young Women's Coffee Morning A small group of women, both young and young-at-heart, meet to share and enjoy each others’ company on a semi-regular basis at various locations around Canberra.
